About

A senior engineer who builds websites and stores personally

I've spent more than a decade shipping software across the full stack and owning the infrastructure behind it — from VR content platforms serving hundreds of thousands of users for clients like The New York Times, Discovery Channel, CBC, and AMC, to modern web and mobile products on Next.js, Supabase, and Expo.

I started in game design and development, spent years in Unity building VR classrooms and 360° video platforms, led teams building real-time systems for location-based VR, and moved deeper into backend and cloud work — Django, Postgres, and cloud infrastructure engineered for cost.

Today I design and build websites and online stores — for business owners who want it done properly by one senior engineer instead of a layered agency, and for agencies that need that engineer on their team. Custom design, working code, launch on your own domain, full ownership, and running costs engineered toward zero. Send me your branding and assets and your website is at a live preview link within 24 hours; for stores, my proposal tends to arrive with the store already taking shape at a live preview link — proof, not promises.

Discovr — VR field trips

Programmer · Discovr Labs

Immersive VR field trips for classrooms — King Tutankhamun's tomb, ancient Rome, and the human body — at a Forbes-profiled VR education startup.

What I built

One of two developers responsible for all of the company's technical work.

  • One of a two-person dev team doing all of the company's technical work — building, shipping, and maintaining every experience.
  • Built the interactive experiences in Unity: guided walkthroughs, artifact inspection, and anatomy exploration.
  • Shipped Discovr Egypt: King Tut's Tomb to Steam.

360° video apps for NYT & Discovery

Unity & VR Developer · Secret Location

The apps behind the first wave of 360° journalism — NYT VR, Discovery VR, and more — on iOS, Android, and Google Daydream.

What I built

Part of a small team — I owned the networking and data layer across the apps.

  • Owned the networking and data layer: API integration, pagination, and serialization/deserialization of the content catalogues.
  • Built download management and offline caching so full 360° episodes were watchable without a connection.
  • Shipped the shared core across iOS, Android, Gear VR, and Google Daydream builds.

Vusr Venue — VR arcade management

Lead Software Developer · Secret Location

One employee running an entire VR arcade: real-time control of every station, the content on it, and the hardware underneath.

What I built

Led a small team of experienced developers, each specialist in their surface.

  • Promoted to lead and given the project; led the team from first design to shipped product, owning roadmap, requirements, and system architecture.
  • Owned the system design across all three surfaces — backend, operator portal, and station app — and the decision to run everything over gRPC for real-time control.

Vusr Stage — motion-platform VR with D-BOX

Lead Software Developer · Secret Location

Location-based VR on D-BOX motion platforms — demoed at IAAPA Expo 2018 running four-player Eagle Flight multiplayer, controlled from a tablet.

What I built

Led the team that built the software for the platform.

  • Led the team that created the software for the project.
  • Worked directly with D-BOX to align on how to control their motion chairs from our platform.
  • Delivered the IAAPA show build: four-player synchronized multiplayer plus the tablet control portal.

simia.ai — interactive 3D shorts

Backend & Infrastructure Engineer · Transitional Forms

An iOS app generating interactive 3D shorts, accepted into Google for Startups — I built the Django backend and the Render infrastructure behind it.

What I built

Freelance, as part of the small team at Transitional Forms — the product is the team's; the Django backend and the infrastructure hosting it were mine.

  • Designed and built the entire Django backend — auth, database, and the app's APIs.
  • Moved the team from a prototype Python server to a production-ready Django service.
  • Implemented the client side of every API in the Unity app.
  • Owned the Render infrastructure — API server and database — end to end.

InvolveXR — VR clinical simulation

Senior Developer — DevOps & Infrastructure · Lumeto

Lumeto's VR clinical-simulation platform, in market worldwide in six languages — I've run its DevOps and infrastructure for five years.

What I built

InvolveXR is Lumeto's product, built by the team — my part is the DevOps and infrastructure the whole platform runs on.

  • Own all DevOps and infrastructure end to end, across four environments (mostly Azure).
  • Built and maintain the CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and the release process.
  • Run source control across Perforce and Azure DevOps Git.
  • Cut cloud costs by USD 20,000+/month by re-architecting Azure PlayFab game-server hosting.
  • Build internal tools that increase the team's day-to-day efficiency.
  • The only engineer working with the CTO to take Lumeto through SOC 2 certification.
  • With the solutions delivery lead, modernizing our SDLC and workflows with AI tooling.
